It was already late in the evening when we left Kaduna. Entering the interchange into the freeway to Abuja, when were saw this..
Every piece of land were used to the max. It goes to show how fertile the soil are in Kaduna and they must be a bunch of 'green fingers'.
The road to Abuja was a dual carriage (two lanes each side) and separated by a huge central reservation or median (the strip dividing the highway). It was straight for most of the part. Just have to be careful with some vehicles driving slow on the fast lane (sounds familiar, right?...it's all over the world) somehow, these sort of drivers do multiply.
don't lie...all petrol-heads would suddenly feel the need for speed |
just straight to Abuja...aheh (note the median, dividing the carriageway..huge) |
But the scenery by the roadside reminds me of the old Ipoh to Kuala Lumpur road. Without the oil palm and rubber trees. It feels just the same. Well, it does bring back fond memories when life were much simpler back then, in the 80's. We sang and tell stories from the moment we left home until we arrived at our destination. But nowadays...
Fay with the ipad...Oppss Madam is asleep |
We spoke little in the car. Everyone was tired and Madam was snoring. hahahahah.. just joking.
Anyway, it was getting darker..outside. Took pictures before I loose the light. Practicing to take pictures using all other settings and in RAW format. Still in that trigger happy phase. Need to practice more, train the eye...my friends Saiful Nang and Syibli Fakih told me. Not that easy, ok.
yucksss... the result of being too trigger happy |
It was dark when we passed Niger State and also the Zuma Rock. Can google it.. but will show you the one on the Nigerian Naira note.
As we entered Abuja, the highway were brightly lit. There were some military checkpoints along the way. But thank Allah for the Google Map and GPS, we arrived at our destination, finally. Around 8.30 thereabouts, we were at Puan Sarmiah's and En (Abg Atan's) place.
with the HE High Comm of Malaysia to Nigeria |
Delicious Nasi Tomato and Lontong prepared by our host, Kak Mia...yummy |
The rest of the Malaysian (all from the Hi-Comm) were already there and Datuk Lim, the Hi-Comm himself were present. It was supposed to be a simple post Eid gathering, so he did not expected to see us there. More so, the whole family. It was a pleasant suprise....at last, we meet. Datuk, Kak (sister) Mia and Abang (means brother in Malay) Atan and the rest (Mr Yunus and Puan Intan, both with spouse and their children).
We are in Abuja and thrilled to be here! What a day!!!!!
So happy to be here....Aheh
