Aheh or Eheh or Eh Eh or Eh are often heard when talking to the Naija....

A sign of confirm or mere saying "I hear you and understand".

Come to think of it, everyone does it... No? Different sound, same meaning...I use "ek" or "uhuh" or even "mmmhmmmm" a lot!

Throwback: Out and About - Part IV - Trafalgar Square Day and Night (London, Dec 2014)

Trafalgar Square
Dear readers, I would like to apologise. Firstly, there is nothing wrong with your eye. It is the camera, GoPro which is  roughly the size of a matchbox and uses the fishbowl type of lens. So the image is curvy at the edges. Its great for selfie freaks and awesomer (hahaha) if used for outdoor extreme activities...or any sporting activities. Secondly, you would notice by now that I have very little or no talent at all in taking pictures.

Since I already owned up the shortcomings of the pictures in the blog, we can move on with the next venue...Trafalgar Square.

No pigeons?! None left. There were few of them here and there in London, but not in Trafalgar Square. I understand the impact of these pigeons (if too many of them) on  environment, health and buildings. More so if it is of high historical value. Oh well, maybe they had just move somewhere nicer (actually, it was done by the City of London due to the reasons I mentioned earlier)

Trafalgar Square was build to commemorate the victory of British Naval against the combined navies of Spanish and French during the Napoleonic Wars in 1800's at Cape Trafalgar, Cadiz, Spain. The centre piece is the Nelson's Column (150ish feet high..maybe taller), with 4 lions guarded at the feet of the column.

Finally, the statue of Lord Nelson

Thanks to the bus no 94, which ran for 24hrs a day non-stop. Afifa and I had a little bit of stroll, from Piccadilly Circus (picture below) at night...

Piccadilly Circus at night
Almost at the same spot during the day
on to Leicester Square Garden....

M&M's store
'The Beatles' puppeteer at Leicester Square Garden during the day, buskers and street dancers were there too
and then Covent Garden (apologies, only pictures during the day...lost most of night pictures..maybe Afifa has them)

Covent Garden, formerly a vegetable market, there's a museum nearby too...

Not so close up picture of the reindeer
from Covent Garden, we took the Wellington Street till we met the Strand. From there it was a matter of walking along the Strand (Tq Monopoly), pass The Savoy (Afifa has a nice picture of it) and voila! The Trafalgar Square again.

Nelson's Column (with some scaffolding in place)

Spent a moment to snap some pictures of its surroundings...

Well, it was either stop at Trafalgar and walk back to Charles II Street to take the bus back to Shepherd's Bush...but noooo, we decided to walk along The Mall, passed the Admiralty Arch towards Buckingham Palace.

There's where all the night pictures of the Victoria Memorial in front of the palace, The Bomber Command Memorial etc were taken. All in a single night. We went back to Piccadilly Circus, had coffee (njammm njammmm) and a slow walk this time to Charles II Street to take the bus back to Shepherd's Bush.

The said no. 94 bus. Love this bus...a lot!

Arrived around 1am, Madam and Zuhaira were doing their favourite pastime, gossiping and watching the telly at the same time (when women said multitask, that's what they meant). Another round of coffee before off to LALALAND...
