A camper van locked for the night, heater on highest setting, old socks, smelly shoes...you get the idea. So opening a window first thing in the morning is welcoming. Ahh the fresh and cold autumn air in the morning is refreshing.
It was still early...and when everyone was ready...some of us opt to take some photos by the lake. The usual suspects were already there when I arrived. But since it was a wet morning, only a handful of us by the lake and the rest were inside. The lake..was well, like a lake. But it's huge, just like Lake Como.

It was drizzling. Non stop rain from last night...and the weather looked as if it has more to give. Anyway, the curios thing (for me) that morning was....a white bird on the lake busy preening itself. It was really busy...not a care in the world. Once done...it swam towards us for food.
Walking around the area, there was another camper van. A much older van. The parking area is adjacent to an area which you could do picnic with your family and take a dip into the lake in summer.
"camp and tent prohibited" which I think it means no overnight lodging in portable shelter made out of cloth (tent) allowed |
We left the parking spot and drove over to Hallstatt. A short drive to the town famous for salt mining dating back to prehistoric times. The town is very scenic, that it attracted a China based company to build a replica of Hallstatt in Huizhou, Guandong province.
Lots of photo op there but we were short on time. It was almost noon and Salzburg beckoned us...but first we need to check a proper camping ground not far from here. It will be the last place we rest before driving back to Munich...and I just can't wait to finish these posting about the trip and start with something new...
entering Hallstatt...if there's red diagonal line means, you're leaving Hallstatt or any other town |
