Luckily for the pictures that were taken during the trip, it has been months since I last wrote about the Rarecation trip. Now to start all over again, it won't be easy without the pictures.
Anyway, we left Maloja in Switzerland and arrived within the vicinity of Lake Garda (Lago di Garda) around 11pm. It was raining too. The name of the camping site was Camping Amici di Lazise (it's beside a theme park - Caneva Aquapark)

OK, it was raining, at night...about 11pm but it was open! Lucky us. This campsite is equipped with heated shower, except the ladies shower rooms are below ground. You can wash your clothes and there's a drier, a playground and a pool if I'm not mistaken. There a cafeteria attached to the campsite's office and please, please don't feed the cats...

Obey the sign..regardless how cute those cats are... |
As usual, Syibli would instruct all the camper vans to park at the most convenient place so it would be easier for us to take in the water and empty the portable toilet later on and off to la la land.
Onwards to the next day.... a view of the surrounding area:
|
empty parking lots |
|
mobile homes for rent on-site |
|
Castello Scalier (built during 13th century) named after the ruling family, della Scala of Verona who ruled the region during 13th to 14th centuries. |

Access to water and , sewer and cleaning the portable toilet was extremely easy. It was available just a few meters away from the camper van. As usual, cleaning the portable toilet tank was the most unpopular one. Still, of all the campsites we had visited; this one was the most unique. Tucked away among the hedges at the end of the parking space, which incidentally where we parked for the night.

Actually, there's a lot we can visit around this area. The castle that I mentioned above and archaeological area at the tip of the peninsula at Lake Garda. Lake Garda is also the biggest lake in Italy. But we had to push on towards Verona.
Must be a nice place to visit since Shakespeare mentioned in one of his famous work "Romeo and Juliet". It was set in Verona along with his two other plays, "The two Gentlemen of Verona" and "The Taming of the Shrew". None of which I ever read, actually. I did attempt to read Romeo and Juliet, but I feel a bit too heavy reading....just like Tolkien's "Lord of the Ring" saga.
Anyway....the little rascal that we were not supposed to feed decided to show itself just before we left the campsite.
Didn't hear it meow. Maybe sounds Italian...and instead of fish, prefer spaghetti...hmmm maybe... Onwards, Verona!!!
